Spring is near! It’s time to get outside and enjoy your city!

We love living in Pittsburgh and love when the winter begins to thaw so that we can get outside and enjoy all that it has to offer. Keep reading to see some of our favorite ways to take a break from our busy real estate world and enjoy Pittsburgh!
1. Go on Local Hikes

Even though Pittsburgh is a big city, it has so many local parks to offer! We love to explore local hiking trails such as Boyce-Mayview Park, South Park, North Park, and Schenley Park. You get to have experience the feeling of escape right in your backyard! Being from the South Hills, we also enjoy dropping in on the Montour Trail that has parking lots and entry points all throughout the area.
2. Visit the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium

With spring, the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium re-opens for guests! We absolutely love the zoo (as you can see from our son, Henry’s, first visit pictured above!). It is a great family activity and so fun to see the awe in your kid’s faces when they see the animals. We find something new and exciting to see each time that we visit and learn so much. If your kiddos love the zoo, we recommend checking out their season pass options!
3. Visit Phipp’s Conservatory

Tucked into the heart of Oakland is Phipp’s Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. This beautiful greenhouse bodes so many beautiful sights and smells to kick off your spring with. Make sure to check out their website for upcoming events including their Spring Flower Show. This year’s theme is “Canopy of Color” and you will not want to miss it! With COVID-19 guidelines in effect, do make sure to purchase your tickets online before visiting.
4. Enjoy your Favorite Seasonal Eateries

There’s nothing like walking up to your favorite ice cream shop or food truck on a warm evening, am I right? The spring months bring a lot of openings for our seasonal favorites and food trucks. Enjoy your favorite eateries, and discover new favorites, by searching for local restaurants near you. You can also take this opportunity to support local businesses during these tough times while dining safely outdoors!
