The snow has been melting all week in Pittsburgh and it has been getting us very excited for spring! This hint of warmth (aka temperatures above 40 degrees) has brought hope that spring is just around the corner. With that, we are looking forward to diving into the trends that the new season will bring with interior design. We picked a few of our favorite upcoming trends from a great list from Homes & Gardens. Keep reading to see which trends we are loving!
1. Earthy Neutrals

There is something cozy about deep neutrals in the home. They can be used as main features, like accent walls, or sprinkled in through metal fixtures such as bronze door handles and iron bedframes. We are currently loving black and bronze hardware in our homes.
2. Greenery

To bring color to any space, I am loving houseplants for Spring 2021! They can help circulate fresh air throughout your home and are a fun hobby to keep up with as they do come with a bit of responsibility. If you don’t have a green thumb (like myself) many stores have great faux options like IKEA, Target, and Michael’s.
3. A Home Office Being the Heart of the Home

Many of us have been working from home for the past year, with no sign of that changing. It is important, if you haven’t already, to create a space for yourself to work peacefully and efficiently. This space doesn’t have to be large, or even it’s own room, but make sure that you add comforts to assist getting through your day and elevate your work experience. Add special decor, splurge on a comfortable ‘office’ chair, bring in candles to relax you. Make your space special!
4. Personalizing Your Kitchen

Kitchens seem to be the place in the home where we do not show our personalities. Everything has it’s place and is, usually, behind a closed cabinet door. I’m loving the 2021 kitchen trend that is calling for ‘curated kitchens’ that is encouraging homeowners to show off their cookbooks and interior design in floating shelves, on the countertops, and as centerpieces on islands. This helps give your kitchen personality and an instant lived-in look.
