Happy March! We’re that much closer to spring, and that much closer to enjoying all it has to offer, even spring cleaning. We all know the phrase “Spring Cleaning”, but here are some tips on what to focus on as you dive into it.

1. Clean Your Gutters
Take the time to remove any lingering debris from your gutters to prepare for the April showers. Remember to wear gloves as you clear them! Check that all of your gutters are depositing at least 5 feet away from your foundation to not cause any potential damage.
2. Check Your Filters and Vents
The change of the season is a great reminder to change your filters! Change out your furnace filter, range hood filters, and water filters. Also take this time to empty your dryer vent as well as the exterior dryer vent. This will also help decrease the risk of fire.
3. Clean Your Windows
Let the sunshine in!! Clean your exterior windows to allow as much sunshine in as possible. Also, take the time to clean your window screens of dirt and dust before you are ready to let the fresh air into your home once more.
4. Clean Your Grill and Outdoor Furniture
One of the best parts of summer, the cookouts! Start preparing your gear by deep cleaning your grill and patio furniture. Wash the outdoor pillows and make sure everything is prepped and ready to enjoy! DIYNetwork has a great article on ways to clean your furniture, so check that out here.
5. Rid Your Home of Allergens
For me, spring season also means allergy season. Do what you can to combat allergens in your home by decluttering your home from dust collecting knicknacks, getting your air ducts cleaned, and replacing those air filters we mentioned earlier.
