I don’t know about you, but spring cleaning gives me the motivation to maintain that fresh and clean environment in the future. Something that I’ve started to implement is a cleaning schedule to make it easy to maintain. Taking small, realistic steps and changes can help you achieve the perpetual clean. Keep reading to learn some tips on how to create a cleaning schedule, and stick to it!
1. Spread it Out
Take a step back and look at your home. For your weekly deep cleaning tasks, separate the house into rooms or categories and assign one room or category to each day. Sprinkle in your daily tasks, such as making the bed, and other regular cleans to do’s into your schedule. Having a daily plan will help manage your expectations and know what you need to accomplish. If you need help with a starting point, Pinterest has a ton of cleaning schedule templates that can get you started.
2. Stock Up On Supplies

It may seem a bit crazy, but like how a new workout outfit motivates one to exercise, new cleaning supplies can motivate you to clean! Take a trip to Target or Walmart and pick up a cute cleaning caddy to store your cleaning materials. Then, grab fresh bottles of your favorite supplies, gloves, and tools. Create your caddy to make your cleaning a bit more glamorous and easier to move your supplies room to room.
3. Don’t be too Hard on Yourself
This schedule will be different for everyone, there is no one size fits all for a cleaning schedule! Create and edit it until it fits your personal lifestyle and needs, it can be ever changing. If you miss a day, or a task, just pick up where you left off or change it as needed! When you don’t set unrealistic expectations for your cleaning schedule, it will be less stressful to maintain and make your life easier.
