Happy Fall, everyone! Fall is my favorite season – the crisp air, the fall scents, and the beautiful colors make it perfect! With the turn of the season comes with it some to do’s to complete outside of your home before the weather turns to winter. Keep reading today to learn some of our tips to transition the exterior of your home from summer to fall!

1. Prepare your HVAC systems
The changing of the season comes with a change of your thermostat from cooling to heating. Before doing so, there are some checks you’ll want to make to ensure that all systems are running efficiently. Clean debris out and around your AC unit outside. Check around your home for any drafts coming from the exterior, you can add weather strips to the doorways and windows to help combat any leaking. You can even have your AC and furnace checked on by your local HVAC company to ensure all is working properly.
2. Clean Up Summer Items
Summertime means sprinklers and enjoying time sitting outside at our home! With the beginning of fall, it’s time to prepare your outdoor toys and furniture for the colder weather. Take time to protect your outdoor furniture by covering it properly or bringing inside any cushions if necessary. Roll up your hoses and store them in the garage. Take this opportunity to check your spigots for leaks, too! Store away any lawn toys that could get ruined by the cold weather.
3. Prepare your Landscaping
Before it’s time to get out your rake for all of the beautiful fall leaves, you can work to prepare your landscaping for the upcoming winter and spring! If you are wanting some spring flowers to pop up, plant your bulbs now! Also, take the time to trim any dead branches or bushes . The crisp air is also a great time to do any other work you need to do in the yard.
